Europe’s most musical time of the year is back: the European Song Contest is broadcasted on Saturday May 29. Millions of people will be sitting in the audience or in front of their TV screens, hoping for their favourites to win. But did you know that ArcelorMittal will also be represented at the contest? How? Read on to find out!
There are very few other TV programmes that are so much disparaged and yet so widely watched. People all around Europe comment on the costumes, enjoy the diversity of the music and… get nervous when the voting starts! This year’s edition will be staged in Oslo, Norway and – more than ever before – ArcelorMittal people will have a good reason to stay tuned.
In fact, ArcelorMittal supplied the walls of the Telenor Arena, the concert arena where the contest will be hosted. Primary conceived as a football stadium, the Telenor Arena also serves as a concert hall built for an audience of 23,000 people.
Arval by ArcelorMittal’s Construction (part of Distribution Solutions segment) started the deliveries in 2008 with mineral wool panels produced in Belgium (UCI). The building was finally completed in 2009.
The facts and figures of this project speak for themselves: 4,000 m2 of mineral wool panels, 150 m of tailor-made corners, U-formed panels and also 750 m2 of pre-curved profiled sheets.
ArcelorMittal has definitely contributed its part, and for the contest… may the best win!
